Some songs need their time. I recorded “Wildfire” three years ago in Berlin, and now, in April, it is finally out. That it landed on Subsidia of all labels is still hard for me to believe. This one truly means the world to me.
Subsidia, one of my dream labels
Subsidia is the label run by Excision, one of the biggest names in dubstep, and it is regarded as one of the most important homes in the whole scene. Releasing there means arriving right at the heart of the bass world. In our scene it feels almost like a knighting. Celebrating my debut on Subsidia makes me incredibly proud and grateful.
Three years of patience
I produced “Wildfire” in Berlin back in 2023 and have carried it with me ever since. Now that it has found its home, everything feels exactly right. Good things sometimes take a while, and in this case the wait was more than worth it.
What the song is about
“Wildfire” is about blossoming again after a hard time. That feeling of suddenly catching fire, of being full of energy and joy of life, and of breaking down the walls you have carried with you for so long. That is exactly what I wanted to translate into sound.
Now I'm burning like a wildfire, lit the spark out of control, let the embers take me higher, I am breaking down the walls.
If this track sparks that same flame in even one person, then it has done everything right.
